Dear Doc,

A nice creative story. Who knows...what the truth behind so many famous figures from history is.

eg Jinnah...Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, was a religious zealot. He was a Muslim in a broad sense. His 1st wife  Emibai was a muslim chosen by his mother before he left for England for further studies lest he marry an english Mam. Emibai died soon after their marriage when Jinnah was still in London. Jinnah plunged himself into his work. Cupid stuck again after 24 long years when he fell in love with  Ruttenbai, the daughter of Sir Dinshaw Petit, a Bombay Parsi millionaire & Jinnah's close friend. Since she was 16yrs then, he had to wait for another 2 yrs before he could marry her over tremendous opposition from her parents and others.

Bottom line...he was a muslim fundamentalist in his public figure...but his lifestyle & thinking in personal life was the exact opposite.

An enjoyable blog indeed. I hope your posting articles does not stop. We can allow you to post in short intervals...but let you off completely...NO WAY!

Bunty.

Nice writing Doc, but it taste salty when someone tries to rewrite history even when its just for creative reason, i guess it might be cause we already   know the true story.   But great writing, keep it up, i'm a big fan of yours.

Roop_910, are you sure you are not   a pile of cow dung with superimposed eyes, ears and nose,   you so sound like one.

"The dark secret behind the celebrated and eternal romance however, lies buried forever safe, deep under the magnificent monument. Buried along with the occupant in the grave-pit. "

An interesting 'creative' piece...well-written as always..

Sure, there could have been many dark secrets...behind this glorious symbol...But, as Tagore says it is “like a solitary tear suspended on the cheek of time.”

There is documentation that it was Mumtaz's 14th pregnancy, which lead to her early demise..Legend says that...she wanted a few promises from Shah Jahan too- which included, 'public declarations' of their love...and she wanted him to marry and find love again (she was his fourth wife)..

Maybe, Prince Khurram also wanted his Banu Begum to 'upstage' NurJahan- who was the 'true consort' of his father Jehangir!!

"Jenana"-like the sound of that:-)

Is  the Taj  truly an Islamic masterpiece? Or a Hindu Temple superimposed with domes, turrets and minnarets?
